OPEN TO LABRADOR RETRIEVERS
This hunt is held under the rules of the American Pointing Labrador Association.
No Retriever may compete in 2 different categories per licensed hunt.

Each Dog is limited to one (1) Licensed Hunt.
Running order will be posted on Hunt Secretary shortly after the close of the test registration.

The Hunt Test Chair, with the approval of the Hunt Test Committee, may choose to modify the conditions of the Test based on resources available, weather or other factors and will ensure that the changed conditions will be posted on the APLA web site 24 hours in advance of the Hunt Test under the EVENTS TAB and on the huntsecretary.com site if needed. All participants are encouraged to review the APLA website for possible updates.

There are generally NO Walk-ups allowed. The exception is when the HTC has received a request by a member, who for extenuating circumstances, was unable to register online. Walk ups will only be allowed only if approved by the hunt test chair prior to the test date. Walk-ups by their nature cause extra work and will require an additional handling fee of $25 per dog. This fee shall be collected along with the registration fee, proof of membership, fully completed application, and dog registration info (AKC/UKC papers), before the dog is allowed to run.

No handler is allowed to run a dog without assurance that all fees have been paid and all appropriate documentation has been received by the APLA.

All dogs must be entered at the highest stake they intend to run for that test. Dogs may be shifted to a lower stake Dogs may only be entered in one stake per day.

** APLA COVID Policy Which is Extended Through the Fall 2020 Tests**
SCRATCH POLICY
APLA’s existing Scratch Policy is as follows: “There will be no refunds after the close, except for bitches in season, illness, injury or death of a dog. The HTC reserves the right to request a veterinarian certificate as proof, prior to a refund being given. The scratch must be made by notifying the Hunt test Secretary in writing, prior to the start of the test and the hunt test chair or hunt test secretary must contact the APLA treasurer about any scratches due to heat or injury so he can credit them back.”
This policy will be modified in 2020 to reflect the impact of novel coronavirus on hunt test attendance. Please note that hunt test entries do not close until 10 days prior to the test, so please do not register for a test with the expectation that you will be refunded your entry fee should you cancel for any but the following reasons:
• APLA cancels the hunt test
• The owner of the hunt test property does not permit the test to be held
• Federal, state, or local authorities prohibit the hunt test from being held
• Federal, state, or local authorities impose travel restrictions that prevent a handler from traveling to or from a test in which they are registered
• A handler is infected or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 and is in quarantine at the time of the test in which they are registered. Within 7 days of notifying the hunt test secretary of the scratch, a note from the handler’s health care provider on their letterhead must be provided stating both that the handler should not attend the test and the dates of the recommended quarantine.
Scratches
Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com unless Club Scratch Policy below states otherwise.

After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Club Scratch Policy

Before the close of the test all refunds will be addressed by huntsecretary.com. Stake fee is fully refunded but the processing fee will be forfeited.
There will be no refunds except for bitches in season, illness, injury or death of a dog. The HTC reserves the right to request a veterinarian certificate. Such scratch must be made by notifying the Hunt test Secretary in a timely manner Entry modification: All dogs must be entered at the highest stake they intend to run for that test. I again am planning on an outdoor setting at my shop Saturday evening after the test. We’ll have smoked brisket, potato salad and beans, and I’ll do some brats too. My shop is less than 3 miles from the grounds (water and land, and ½ mile from upland).
