WELCOME STATEMENT

Welcome to the 2023 Central Maine Spaniel Club annual spring Spaniel Field Trial. The CMSC field trial committee would like to thank all of you for coming. In the spirit of the event, please remember that we ae all Sportsmen and Sportswomen here to promote the English Springer Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel breeds. As such, we expect that everyone will act in accordance with the AKC Code of Sportsmanship.

This field trial is held under the Rules and Procedures of the American Kennel Club. A few reminders:

1. The AKC and CMSC require that at least one article of Blaze Orange clothing be worn above the waist by all those in the field.
2. Severe correcting or disciplining of any dog will not be allowed on the grounds.
3. Dogs not competing in the trial should not be in the gallery or on the course while the trial is being conducted.
4. All handlers will report to the line with an Adequate supply of water for their dogs.

Saturday February 18th: Start Springer Amateur - 1st series, 2nd series THEN 2nd Cocker Open 1st, 2nd series. Stopping at 4:30 PM

Sunday February 19th: Finish 2nd series if needed. 3rd Series Springer Amateur. 3rd Series Cocker Open. Puppy stakes - Springer then Cocker.

DRAWINGS/RUNNING ORDER

Drawings will take place at Huntsecretary.com 8:00 AM ET on 2/7/2023. The Running Order will be electronically randomized and adjusted slightly to accommodate handlers running multiple dogs.

 

SCRATCHES

Scratches prior to closing date will be refunded by HuntSecretary.com.

 

After the closing date, all scratches will be handled based on the Club Scratch Policy specified below.

Money will be refunded if a dog is wounded or dies or for any bitch who comes into season at trial time. Other refunds are at the discretion of the Field Trial Committee

TAILGATE INFORMATION

There will be light refreshments after the conclusion of events on Thursday and Friday at the grounds. All participants are welcome to come and mingle before the presentation of awards.

Come kick back! Make reservations here for you and your guests (you do not need to be entered in the trial to make a reservation). $20.60 online. Reservations must be made online or by contacting Susan Willingham (information below) or Deanna Keller by FEBRUARY 6th!

The evening is hosted by friends and supporters of field trials so come enjoy the evening. 5:30 pm cash only bar cocktails and catered buffet dinner and awards at 6:30pm.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
